A CAMINHO DE BRAGA
This stadium, built almost entirely of rock, has the capacity for 30,000 spectators. Located next to Parque da Ponte (Bridge’s Park), the construction of the stadium started in the year 1946, being the first stadium ever built in Braga. António Salazar and Óscar Carmona inaugurated the Municipal Stadium at the May 28th, 1950, the stadium was called from that day on “28 de Maio” (May 28th). It was until the April 25th, 1974, that the stadium changed to its current name.
Currently, the stadium is being used by Sporting Clube de Braga’s lower football levels, it is also used for other competitions, football practices, athletics, etc. However, its current use, the stadium continues to play an important role in the city of Braga.
