     The Parque da Ponte or Parque de São João da Ponte is an urban park located at the end of the Avenida da Liberdade. It’s divided in four areas: the exterior area, the interior area, the Ponte’s Sports Complex and the Ponte’s Campsite.
     The exterior area of the park, the oldest, grew around the Chapel of São João. It’s a space full of trees, with a few gardens and lakes, a bandstand, a playground, an outdoor auditorium and a monument to the 25th of April celebrating freedom and democracy.
     This area is associated to the São João’s Festivities, it’s where the Arraial de São João is traditionally held.
     The interior area has more dense vegetation and a large artificial lake. There is also an old greenhouse that has been restored and turned into a video library and an internet space.
